ABOUT MUSIC

I really enjoy listening to music and also playing it. When I listen to my favourite artists' music I feel relaxed and happy. Since I was little I got into the music's world when I started going to music classes. In the very beginning I didn't really enjoy them because I was little and shy but then I made so many friends and I enjoyed my classes. I remember one day my music teachers told us that we should choose an instrument to play it. I feel so comfused because I didn't know which one was my favourite. Then I visited some classes where they were playing different instruments. I loved the violin and the piano but then I entered in the traverse flute class and I knew that I wanted to play it. It sounded really good and they were playing an amazing song. So I chose it, the traverse flute.

Since now I have always played the flute and I don't think I am gonna stop playing it because I really enjoy it but recently I can't play it so much because of the exams, works...

In my flute classes we always play classical music. The thing I enjoy the most is when my teacher Aleix and me play duets because it sounds amazing. But sometimes me and my friends met one day in the music school to play some pop music we have decided and we practice it and then we perform it in front of all the teachers and parents and some friends we invite. We are not a big group, there are three pianos, two guitars, a violin, four traverse flutes and sometimes the drums. Currently we are practicing the song Trumpets by Jason Derulo and it sounds really good.

When I am at home I never listen to classical music I just like playing it. I enjoy listening to Indie folk, Indie Rock, R&B, sometimes pop...  My favourite artist at the moment is Tom Odell because I found him a very expressive singer in the way he sings and plays the piano.

PIT AND PENDULUM

What is the Pit and Pendulum about?

The Pit and Pendulum is about a man who is sentenced to death by three judges. He wokes up in a dark room and he is very comfused because he doesn't know where he is. He walks around the room to discover how big it is but he falls down and finds that there is a big pit in the floor. Then he wakes up again and he is tied to a cot. From the ceiling there's a cord with a pendulum with a sharpened blade which is getting closer to him. Then he looks beside him and he sees a spicy meat and a hundred of hungry rats. But after some time he can move and his captors pull the pendulum up. When he is asking for help the walls start to get closer and pull him into the pit. But when he is screaming for help an arm pulls him and the walls stop moving.

MY FAVOURITE BOOKS

I love reading since I was little because it is the only way I can forget about everything for a moment and just focus on the amazing story I am reading.

My favourite genre of books at the moment are science fiction and adventures. I also love the dystopian fiction which is a literary genre that explores social and political structures in the creation of a degraded society in the future.

One of my favourite dystopian novels is Divergent by Veronica Roth. It is a trilogy and it consists of Divergent (2011), Insurgent (2012) and Allegiant (2013) and she also wrote another book, Four (2014), explaining some moments of the story from another perspective.

The books describe a post-apocalyptic version of Chicago, closed by a chain link fence and where society is divided into five factions: Abnegation for the selfless, Candor for the honest, Amity for the peaceful, Dauntless for the brave, and Erudite for the knowledgeable. Everyone when they turn 16 must choose a new faction, or remain in the one they have been raised in.

The whole trilogy follows Beatrice Prior (Tris), a 16 years old girl who has an aptitude for more than one faction. She is special. She is a Divergent. However, it's not safe to be a Divergent and Tris has to keep it in secret. Tris gets into a captivating journey to discover the secrets of the factions, protect herself from those who will kill her for her divergence, and find what is hidden outside the chain link fence...

They have also done the movies of the books, Divergent, Insurgent and on March 2016 Allegiant.
The actors of the movies are Shailene Woodley as Beatrice Prior, Theo James as Tobias Eaton and Ansel Elgort as Caleb Prior.

If you want to know which is your aptitude or if you are a Divergent you can take a test from the official movie site to know it. Click here.

Which basic elements of horror didn't you include on your list?

The horror elements I didn't include on the list of my last post The scariest movie for me are:

  • Wind and rain
  • Doors grating on rusty hinges
  • Lights in abandoned rooms
  • Crazed laughter
  • Clanking chains
  • Thunder and lightning
  • Gusts of wind blowing out lights

THE SCARIEST MOVIE FOR ME

I don't really enjoy watching scary movies so I haven't seen a lot of them. But I remember one that I saw in TV that I liked. It's The house at the end of the street.

The house at the end of the street is about a recently divorced mother, Sarah, and her daughter Elissa who are hoping for a new beginning in a small rural town where they find the house of their dreams. But then unexplainable events begin to happen when Sarah and Elissa learn that the town has a secret, the legend of Carrie Anne. Years earlier, in the house next door, a girl killed her parents in their beds, and then she disappeared but the body was never found. Ryan, the brother, was the only survivor and now he comes back to his parents house. Against Sarah's wishes, Elissa begins a relationship with Ryan and the closer they get, the deeper they are pulled into a mystery more dangerous than they ever imagined.

The best part of the movie is the end because it's when you finally discover what was really going on in the town but I can't explain it because if you see the movie it wouldn't be fun, so another of the best moments is when Ryan invites Sarah to get into the house because then he explains to her that what actually happened is that Carrie Anne one day fell down of the swing and after that she was complitly different. It was the first time he talked about it.

Horror elements of the movie:

  • Closed rooms
  • Dark forest
  • Mental disorders
  • Abduction
  • Death

MY FAVOURITE YOUTUBER

One of the things I enjoy the most doing on my free time is to watch videos on Youtube and my favourite youtuber at the moment is Casey Neistat.

Casey Neistat is an American film director, producer, designer and a creator of popular Youtube videos since 2010. He was born in New London, Connecticut, US in 1981 and he is actually living in New York with his wife Candice and his two children.

What I like about him is that he is a really hard-working person (he also has a tattoo which says DO MORE). When he was little he was very poor. He didn't even finished his studies and he worked as a dishwasher but he had a dream, he wanted to live in New York and make movies, so he did it.When he moved to New York in 2001 he began working with the artist Tom Sachs and his brother Van Neistat making series of films about the artist's sculptures and installations. One of his biggest successful projects was when in July 2008, Home Box Office HBO bought an eight-episode television series, "The Neistat Brothers" directed by Casey and Van Neistat for just under $2 million.
He has made 95 short movies on Youtube and recently, on March 25 of 2015, he started daily vlogging on his main Youtube channel.

Another thing that amazes me about him is that once he had an accident with a Vespa motorcycle and he broke his leg in 27 parts. The doctors said the he would never run again but after a hard rehab until now he have run 22 marathones. He inspires me to dream big and never give up.

Here you can see a short movie he made about the Devil's Pool, Africa:

MY INTELLIGENCE

Acording to the test we took of Multiple Intelligences I am very good at logical and musical. I agree because my strong point are maths and I really enjoy playing or listening to music. It said that I am good at naturalistic too, which I totally agree because I love the outdoors and the animals. About the results of intrapersonal it's true because I am pretty independent and I find it easy to learn and think by my own. I agree with the results of kinaesthetic but about the visual/artistics intelligence I think it's a bit too much because drawing or paiting are not my favourite hobbies but actually I am very observant and I have a good sense of direction. Acording to the test my weak points are intrapersonal which I quite agree and linguistic intelligence which I don't agree because I really enjoy reading and I love lenguages but the thing is that I don't like talking in front of so many people.

This is the grafic of my results:

THE ANIMAL IN ME

  • In the English class we took a test to know what animal is inside us. When I answered all the questions it said:

  • You are a Beaver!

  • The beavers are the workaholics of the animal world. No animal personality places more emphasis, nor derives more self-esteem than beavers do from thair carrer. I agree that I am self-esteem to what I do and I am a hard-working person but maybe being a workaholics doesn't define me very well. The test also said that I am reliable, ethical and judgemental. I agree with reliable because I am a very dependable person and responsable. I agree with ethical too, because I think I am honest and loyal. I don't agree with judgemental because before judging a person I prefer to know more about them than just how do they look like.

  • The test has guessed that my careers would be:

  • Engineer, naval officer, manager or a judge. I like the idea of being a engineer but I don't think I am gonna study to become a judge, manager or naval officer.

  • And it also guessed that my hobbies would be:

  • Gardening, woodworking, collecting or sewing. But I don't like anyone of these.

    MY HEROES

    My heroes are my parents.

My father is Valentí and he is 49 years old. When he was little he wanted to be an engineer and he was very smart but he couldn't study university because at those times my family had no money to pay it so he worked as a farmer and with my grandfather's business of constructions. He is very hard-working, clever and a very happy person.

My mother is Silvia and she is 46 years old. She is from Fortià and she works as a secretary. She loves children and when I was little she always took care of me and helped me with my homework. She loves cooking for us and at her free time she does cross stitch. She is a very responsable person but she is also very funny.

They are my heroes because they are the ones i look up to and I want to learn from. I love them and when I grew up I want to be as smart, happy, and lovely as them.

    MY BIGGEST DREAM

I have so many dreams like travel all around the world, learn to surf, live in New York for a while... But my biggest dreams is to become a vet since I was little. I can't imagine my future unrelated to animals.
There are a couple of reasons why being a vet is something that I really want to do: my love for animals, my interest in medicine, and my love for helping because I think that veterinarians help not only animals, they also help humans.

To realize that dream I will have to study a lot and for a long time. I will have to work hard and go to the university, and also get money to pay it. But studying will be ok if I like it and about going to the university, I will have to end high school first, and earn money to pay it.

Becoming a vet will be hard sometimes. I will have to be ambitious, motivated, and quick learner. But I can do it even if it's difficult because it's my dream and I really want to.

I have the feeling that I would be one of the people in this world who loves their job.
